Winter Wonderland. . . Kind of

Well, our lives have been put on hold since Tuesday morning. Overnight a winter storm blew through Kentucky and didn't stop until Wednesday afternoon. We were first hit with several inches of snow, an inch of ice and then another couple inches of snow. While the snow is beautiful the ice is a pain. Tuesday night we were awoken several times to the sound of tree limbs falling in our yard. Thankfully nothing fell on our house or garage. Due to the ice, 190,000 homes were without power, in Louisville alone. We only lost our power for about an hour on Tuesday night. We are SO thankful to have power and heat. Here are a few pictures of what we woke up to on Wednesday morning after the ice had done it's damage. Adam worked for hours in our yard moving limbs, clearing a walkway, cleaning our cars and working on clearing the driveway. He even had to use a chainsaw to cut down some hanging branches. Although we are ready for this to mess to disappear we have been very lucky.

It's beginning to look like a nursery

This past weekend my family came to visit and help with the nursery. My brother and dad can fix up a room in no time. My dad spent most of the day painting while the rest of us checked in on him, mom cleaned paint brushes and Adam pinted the chair rail. I am super pleased with the room. It looks precious. I can't wait to get the furniture, decorations and of course have the little girl to go in the room! Having the nursery painted made me more excited and made it seem even more unreal. In 3 months our life will look totally different and Adam and I can't wait.

Well, today we are officially in our third trimester! Two-thirds of the way there until we meet our little girl. Adam and I kept saying if we can just make it to January time will probably fly by. Well, we are now in January so we will see. The crib and changing table are on order thanks to my parents, we bought the bedding, and are going to paint the nursery this weekend. I am really excited for that.

Our little girl is quite a mover. It has been so neat to feel her movements become stronger. Adam can easily feel her each day, and we have even been able to see my stomach move if she gives a good strong kick. It is amazing to love someone so much that you have never even met. We are counting down the weeks - 14 - until she joins us!
